This wonderful mass by the British 20th century organist and composer George Malcolm has now become a Christmas tradition at Saint Philip’s.
The charming simplicity of much of this music underscores the title “Mass at the Crib” and the rare outbursts of joy in the Gloria and Hosanna movements celebrate the birthday of the Christ Child through striking harmonic and declamatory passages.
Our ensemble-in-residence, Monsoon Brass, will lead us in the great hymns and carols of the season.
