Welcome, Jeff!

Saint Philip’s is pleased that parishioner and organist, Jeff Hall, will serve as substitute organist in July while Jeffrey Campbell enjoys vacation time.

Jeff and his wife, Schenley, moved to Tucson in November 2024 after 32 years in Flagstaff. Jeff worked at Lowell Observatory, serving as Executive Director from 2010 to 2024.

Jeff has a B.A. in Physics from Johns Hopkins and a Ph.D. in Astronomy and Astrophysics from Penn State. He studied organ in high school and throughout graduate school as a welcome change of pace from all the astronomy. During his time in Flagstaff, Jeff served as assistant organist at Epiphany Episcopal Church.

Over the years when not playing the organ, Jeff has enjoyed using his home studio to create synthesizer realizations of his original ragtime pieces, as well as of works ranging from Bach’s Art of Fugue to Terry Riley’s In C.

Jeff has enjoyed greatly his first semester in the Choir of Saint Philip’s this past spring, and he and Schenley are happy to be part of the parish.
