September 24 topic
Mosaic is the principal formation offering at Saint Philip’s, a weekly gathering on Wednesdays for fellowship, formation, and prayer.
Unfortunately, we have been unable to secure enough volunteers to continue Mosaic dinners this semester. Instead, Mosaic will have 30 minutes of fellowship with tea, coffee, and cookies in Saint Anne’s Center.
Please join us for Evening Prayer at 5:30pm, fellowship at 6:00pm and discussion at 6:30pm.
This year, rather than one overarching theme, the program year will be split into four courses of different topics relevant to our life in Christ and in Christian community.
The first series, “Revelation: How to Read It and How Not to Read It,” will run from September 10 through October 15.
Session three of this six-part series will be led by Kelsi Vanada and Julia Annas and is titled “Prophecies of the End Times?“
Revelation has been read as predicting the end of the world. However, there is no Rapture of Antichrist in Revelation. Its context is the world of Jewish and early Christian “apocalyptic” writing, especially the Book of Daniel. What is “apocalyptic” prophecy if it’s not a prediction? How are we to read it?
