Mobile housing

by Jane Prescott-Smith

Jesus commands us to love our neighbors as ourselves. Some of our neighbors who live very close to Saint Philip’s reside in mobile homes on rented land. These landowners are held to a very different standard than apartment owners, which many people feel is unfair.

One of them is Mary Alice Theroux, an activist/advocate for fair practice in Mobile Home Parks and a board member of the Arizona Association of Manufactured Home Owners (AAMHO).

St. Francis in the Foothills (4625 E. River Road, NW corner of River and Swan) will host Mary Alice as a speaker at 11:00am on Sunday, October 12. The forum will be in the church’s Celebration Center (which is what the church calls its worship space).

Mary Alice will discuss changes that AAMBHO is trying to make to laws which govern mobile home owners who rent land.
