‘Mass in B Minor’

At the 10:00am service on Sunday, March 2, Saint Philip’s choirs will sing the Gloria movements from Bach’s magisterial Mass in B Minor.

Last year, the choirs sang the Symbolum Nicenum section within the service, and they are excited to mount another major section of this masterful work.

Bach sets this ancient hymn of praise with a kaleidoscope of 17th-century techniques: grand choruses, rigorous polyphony, brilliant solos, and profound musical treatment of the text.
