Lenten sessions
During Lent, Fr Matthew Reese prepares candidates for Baptism, Confirmation, and Reception in a series of catechism classes. A Practice of Prayer and Contemplation series runs concurrently as an alternate option.
The Sacrament of Confirmation, Reception into the Church, or Reaffirmation of one’s Christian faith are offered every two years at a Bishop’s visit, and once a year in Phoenix at a Diocesan service.
Bishop Jennifer Reddall is not scheduled for a visit to Saint Philip’s in 2026. However, those interested in being Confirmed, Received, or Reaffirmed in 2026 are invited to the Diocesan Confirmation service at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral at 11:00am on Saturday, May 16, 2026.
