Laundry Love
Laundry Love is deeply grateful for the unwavering support of Northwest Community Friends Church (Quakers) in Tucson. Volunteers want to especially recognize Siew Lilley who recently hand-delivered rolls of quarters and laundry packets with dryer sheets to parishioner Marilyn Lindell.
This support helps continues the impactful work of the late Cliff Franks (1935-2021), a key founder of Laundry Love. Cliff’s involvement was inspired by Marilyn Poppino, a cherished member of Saint Philip’s and former Music Director at Northwest Community Friends Church, who helped initiate the project.
Cliff was well-known to his fellow church members for carrying around and loudly shaking his Laundry Love donation jar to encourage a steady input of quarters.
Now, Northwest Community Friends Church parishioner Siew Lilley enthusiastically continues to coordinate Cliff’s work for the benefit of Laundry Love and thus periodically reaches out to the project leadership at Saint Philip’s. On Tuesday, February 10, Siew delivered church members’ donations of $110 (all quarters!) and 8 packets with supplies.
It is a joy to have the supportive partnership of Northwest Community Friends Church and Saint Philip’s is very grateful for their continued participation!
All are encouraged to support the Laundry Love project with monetary donations of any sort. To donate online, please click here and select “Give to Laundry Love” when making your donation.
