Kirkan o’ the tartan

At the 10:00am service this Sunday, November 24, Saint Philip’s will participate in the traditional, annual ceremony of blessing the tartans.

Regardless of one’s heritage, the tartan is a symbol of love and togetherness. In the Kirkin’ service, ancient times and past and present kin are remembered while asking God’s help and blessings in the future.

Anyone with a tartan or kilt is invited to wear it or bring it to church on Sunday and to participate in the blessing ceremony. The Tucson Highlanders will offer bagpipe music throughout the service.
