John Koza

John was raised a Roman Catholic in the suburbs of Cleveland, Ohio. He attended church every Sunday and served as an altar boy.

Later in life—after fifteen years in the hotel business—John returned to school and earned a Bachelor’s degree in vocal performance and a Master’s degree in choral conducting.

He then worked for the Presbyterian church as a Director of Music for 25 years in California.

John says he was a Roman Catholic for 25 years, a Presbyterian for 25 years, and now strives to continue as an Episcopalian.

Writing reflections for Daily Bread was an unexpected but welcome invitation. He says it stretches him in his reading of scripture, his prayer life and in his worship by heightening his awareness so he can share his observations.
