Dear Friends in Christ,

On Trinity Sunday, we celebrate the mystery at the heart of our faith: one God in three Persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

This is not a doctrine we grasp with ease, but a truth we live into daily. The Trinity is not merely a theological puzzle; it is the living pattern of divine love that shapes our lives as Christians.

From an Anglican perspective, we understand the Trinity as a relational God—eternally loving within God’s own being. This divine relationship is not closed off but extended to us.

In our baptism, we are brought into the life of the Trinity, marked as Christ’s own forever. Our worship—especially in the Holy Eucharist—is always Trinitarian.

We pray to the Father, through the Son, in the power of the Holy Spirit. Every time we make the sign of the cross or hear the blessing, “The blessing of God Almighty, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit,” we are reminded of the divine community into which we are drawn.

In daily life, the Trinity shapes how we understand love, community, and mission. The Father is the Creator, sustaining our lives and calling us into being.

The Son, Jesus Christ, reveals the heart of God through compassion, justice, and self-giving love.

The Holy Spirit breathes life into us, guiding, comforting, and empowering us to live as Christ’s body in the world.

Trinity Sunday reminds us that God is not solitary, but communion.

We are invited to mirror that divine communion in our relationships—with God, with one another, and with all creation.

As we go about our lives this week, may we seek to live in the image of the Triune God: loving abundantly, giving freely, and remaining united in faith and hope.

Yours in Christ,

—Fr Robert
