Difficult Doctrines

Mosaic, the principal formation offering at Saint Philip’s, will resume on Wednesday, December 7, with a new session titled “Difficult Doctrines.”

You are invited to one or all of the events:

5:30pm Evening Prayer in the Sanctuary
6:00pm Fellowship with tea, coffee, and cookies in Saint Anne’s
6:30pm-7:30pm Discussion in Saint Anne’s

This third session will run through Wednesday, February 11, and will take participants into some of the harder Scriptures to read and the more difficult ideas to believe—and how we balance these challenges.

The first part, “Original Sin,” will be led by Mtr Paula Datsko.

For centuries, the Church has taught that every human baby is born with a sinful nature. Why did this doctrine come abut? Why does it matter theologically? What meaning can we find in it to encourage us in our lives today?
