‘Dies Natalis’

At 10:00am Sunday, February 2, Saint Philip’s will celebrate the feast of the Presentation of Jesus in the Temple with Dies Natalis, by Gerald Finzi.

Soprano Asleif Willmer will sing poetry by the English metaphysical poet, Thomas Traherne, accompanied by Gerald Finzi’s lush, spiritually expressive writing for string orchestra. Traherne and Finzi meditate on the wonder of birth and of the miracle of a child’s entrance into the world.
