Guns to gardens

Do you—or someone you know—have guns you no longer want? Do you have children, grandchildren, or other at-risk family members in your home?

Take advantage of this opportunity to transform those guns into functional garden tools, beautiful jewelry, and works of art.

From 10:00am-12:00pm, on Saturday, October 17, Saint Philip’s will host a voluntary, safe surrender of guns through Guns to Gardens Tucson.

How it works:

  • No reservation needed. Open only to anyone voluntarily disposing of firearms
  • Come to the parking lot with your UNLOADED firearm(s) in the trunk of your car
  • Skilled personnel will remove your gun(s)
  • Remain in your vehicle while volunteers dismantle firearms in your presence
  • Expect 30-60 minutes of wait time
  • You remain anonymous
  • No ammunition accepted

Then the group will return from 12:00pm-2:00pm on Sunday, October 18, for a blacksmithing demonstration. The public is invited to see how people of faith and conscience are transforming firearms into garden tools and other works of art. This event is a blacksmithing demonstration only; no firearms accepted. For more information, email gunstogardens@southsidepres.org.
