From the Vestry
Dear Fellow Parishioners,
This Sunday, we will celebrate Fr Richard following the 10:00am service. We hope that you can attend the reception in the Murphey Gallery.
We are grateful for everything Fr Richard has given to St Philip’s over the past nine months. He is a wonderful pastor, teacher, confidant, and clergyman. If you can’t attend the reception this Sunday, know that you will still see him as he will continue to be an affiliate priest at St Philip’s.
This past week, your Vestry met with Bishop Reddall to address the transition of leadership. As you are aware, the parish is very fortunate to have a well-qualified person on staff to assume the leadership role at St Philip’s.
We approved unanimously that Fr Matthew Reese be appointed Priest-in-Charge. This position carries all Rector responsibilities and authority. Fr Matthew humbly accepted the position with the statement that he is honored to be asked to serve and is committed to remain in the post as needed.
Please know that Vestry members are doing what we can to address our parish needs. Though we are a very diverse group in many ways, we are also a family. As such, we pray for unity, understanding, and respect for one another.
If you would like to address the recent changes at St Philip’s, please reach out to one of the wardens. (Click here for a list of Vestry members with photos.)
Let us celebrate God’s blessings together.
—Your Vestry
