Finding the Vulnerable Self

“What do you want me to do for you?”Jesus asked a blind man by the road, and the question still waits for each of us.

We all learn to wear a face for the world. It provides safety at first, but as the years accumulate, that mask turns heavy, transforming protective armor into a wall that blocks grace.

Come explore what Paul called kenosis, the self-emptying that makes room for something new. Mary said yes to what she could not control. Bartimaeus threw off his cloak. Two brothers were each invited to give up the story they had been telling about themselves. What might you be invited to set down?

Through scripture, conversation, and gentle embodied exercises, you are invited to listen for the inner voices that hold you back and practice making room for the open, trusting self beneath. Participation in every exercise is optional, and the space will be held with care.

All are invited to attend an Advent workshop from 9:00am-1:00pm on Saturday, December 5, in the Bloom Music Center. Led by The Rev’d Richard Mallory, Episcopal priest and psychotherapist, trained in Pesso Boyden System Psychomotor by its founder, Albert Pesso.

Space is limited to 15 participants. To register, click here.
