Creation care cleanup
It is that time again! Saint Philip’s sponsors the northernmost mile of Campbell Avenue. It may be only a single mile but Saint Philip’s is part of a program that is estimated to save Pima County tax payers and average of $250.00 per mile cleaned!
Part of being a sponsor includes volunteering twice a year to spend a few hours collecting trash along both sides of the road from the north end of Campbell down to the intersection with Skyline Drive.
The next cleanup will be this Saturday, October 24.
The church will provide safety vests, trash bags, and tools to pick up the trash. What we need are volunteers!
The group will meet at Saint Philip’s at 9:00am and then carpool to the end of Campbell Avenue. From there, folks will work their way south to the intersection at Skyline. Once finished, everyone will return to Saint Philip’s and then, all who are interested will go out for lunch.
Volunteers will need to wear long pants, a long-sleeved shirt, and closed-toed shoes. A hat and work gloves are strongly recommended—as is plenty of water!
If you’d like to participate, then please contact parishioner Greg Silva at gregsilva@aol.com.
