November's artists

Every month a local artist is invited to sell their handmade objects in The Little Shop. Artists donate a percentage of their proceeds to Saint Philip’s.

Pop in the store each week before or after worship services to see what gifts you find—for yourself or others.

November will feature items created by members of Saint Philip’s Fiber Guild, formerly known as the Prayer Shawl Knitters. Offerings include dog beds, baby sweaters, baby booties, and shawls.

A bit about the Fiber Guild
This group, formerly known as the Prayer Shawl Knitters, gathers at 10:30am every Saturday for a hybrid meeting in room 10 and via Zoom.

Knitters and crocheters of all skill levels are welcome at these gatherings, and instruction is available for beginners. Donated yarn and needles are available to those who need them.

The Guild’s pimary mission is to create prayer shawls for parishioners and their loved ones who are ill, bereaved, or going through a difficult time. Shawls are blessed by clergy throughout the year and then distributed during in-person, pastoral visits.

The group also creates hats and scarfs to donate to the Seaman’s Institute of New York’s Christmas at Sea project. These are distributed to seamen from around the word who come into US ports during the holiday season. The Guild partners with Saint Philip’s children and youth to create Christmas cards that accompany the hats and scarves.

If you have questions or would like to participate, contact parishioners Helene Woodhams at helenewoodhams@comcast.net or Linda Dewey at ldewey2020@gmail.com.

Artists have been scheduled through April 2024. If you are interested in sharing your creativity please contact Kiki Cheney at kiki.cheney@stphilipstucson.org.
