New choral works

To mark the beginning of Advent this coming Sunday, December 3, the choir will present new choral works by the living Swiss composer Ivo Antognini at both the 9:00am and 11:15am worship services.

Known for writing music in a diversity of styles—jazz, film scores, and choral works—Antognini possesses a unique voice, weaving together lush harmonies and surging rhythms into works as memorable as they are moving. The choir will also collaborate with saxophonist Chris Herald to sing movements from James Whitbourn's atmospheric Son of God Mass.

Saint Philip’s in the Hills strives to bring the finest quality choral music to its worship services by incorporating substantial works directly into the liturgy. Every first Sunday of the month (October-May), the choirs present such an offering at the 9:00am and 11:15am services, often with instrumental accompaniment.

We hope you’ll join us this Sunday to experience this wonderful music in a liturgical context.
