A new chapter

Saint Philip's and Lutheran Social Services have sponsored the Kurdish Ahmed family since their arrival in Tucson from Iraq. During the past 18 months, volunteers have helped the family move, accompanied them to doctor’s appointments, and advocated for their children at school. And now…they are helping the mother Javen prepare for her new baby that is due in December.

Parishioner Esther helped in a big way this week: she donated her son’s crib, changing table, and other helpful accessories. Other volunteers coordinated pickup of the items and transported them to the Ahmed family. Lots of moving parts and very willing hearts made this happen. Thank you to everyone involved!
