New schedules

During June, July, August, and September there will be some changes to the usual schedule of worship and formation offerings.

SUNDAYS

Nursery
Two trained attendants will be available from 9:30am-11:30am for infants and toddlers ages 0-3. The nursery is in the Ferguson room—just north of the church’s most southern side entrance.

Anti-Racism Discussion Group

Participants will spend the summer addressing the topic of anti-semitism by reading two books. The first is Why the Jews? The Reason for Antisemitism by Dennis Prager and Joseph Telushkin. The second book is The Misunderstood Jew: The Church and the Scandal of the Jewish Jesus by Amy-Jill Levine.

The Little Shop
Saint Philip’s book and gift store will be open on Sunday mornings from 8:30am-12:00pm.

Choral Evensong
Choral Evensong will take place this Sunday, May 21, not occur June-September, and then resume on Sunday, October 15.

On the third Sunday of the month, the Saint Nicholas youth choir and the Schola Cantorum adults offer Choral Evensong. This ancient liturgy takes the form of sung prayers, psalms, and the traditional evening canticles, the Magnificat and Nunc dimittis, along with a hymn and an anthem.

MONDAYS

8:30am Morning Prayer and 12:15pm Holy Eucharist will be suspended.

Daughters of the King
This group meets meets 11:15am-12:15pm on the 2nd and 4th Mondays of each month in the Bride’s room. Gatherings will continue through the summer without interruption.

Literati book club
This book discussion group meets at 7:30pm on the 2nd Monday of every month in the library. During the summer months the conversation is held via Zoom. All are welcome—for a single visit or ongoing. Contact parishioner Beth Brouillette at bethbrouillette@outlook.com for details.

Meet God at the Movies
This movie discussion group meets at 6:30pm on the 3rd Monday of every month via Zoom. It will meet through the summer without interruption. All are welcome to join the discussions, but registration is required. You can register by emailing Mtr Mary at mary.trainor@stphilipstucson.org

The group explores a film and plumbs it for theological content in the areas of creation (what is the world of the story like); what is broken/where is sin; is there a moment of turnaround, repentance; and where is redemption or the reign of God visible.

TUESDAYS

The 12:15pm Healing service led by Canon Joanna Satorius in the Chapel of the Nativity will continue without interruption (except on Tuesday, July 4).

Food Pantry
The food pantry will continue its usual hours without any change. It will be open from 9:00am-12:00pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Bible Study
This group meets at 10:00am every Tuesday for 60 minutes via Zoom. It will have a short break July 5-July 18 and resume on July 25—when the focus will be the Old Testament “double-header:” the books of Esther and Daniel.

Caregiver Support Group
If you are caring for a loved one and feel lonely, isolated, or overwhelmed, then this meeting offers a safe space to connect with others who share your experience. Meetings will continue 1:30pm-3:30pm in the former parish nurse’s office (across from the fish pond) until June 21. Click here for more information.

Mosaic Community Night
This coming Wednesday, May 24, enjoy a catered meal to celebrate the generous work of the Hospitality Team throughout the program year. Food Pantry
The food pantry will continue its usual hours without any change. It will be open from 9:00am-12:00pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Joys and Fears of Aging
This group will continue to meet weekly from 1:00pm-2:30pm via Zoom to share stories and reflect on aging. Old roles can be shed and humor and silliness are encouraged. At the same time, if someone is worried about the unknown, then that is ok, too.

Women’s Bible Study
This group will meet on Thursday, May 25, and then break for the summer. It will resume meetings on Thursday, September 7.

Gatherings are in-person from 6:30pm-7:30pm in the library. Participants discuss readings based on a theme, and the conversations are often assisted by a helpful book. Anyone interested in learning more should contact parishioner Camille Salisbury at cbsalisbury@gmail.com.

SATURDAYS
Prayer Shawl ministry
This group will meet without interruption throughout the summer. All levels of knitters and crocheters are invited from 10:30am-12:00pm on Saturdays in Room 10 and via Zoom. Click here for more information.
