Rising Stars Concert

Saint Philip’s provides performance opportunities for young musical stars in the Tucson area. The events feature an hour of special chamber music in the church followed by a reception with the artists.

Music lovers will appreciate the stellar performances but the concerts are also special opportunities for young people to watch a peer perform as a featured artist. All are encouraged to bring a young person who might be inspired.

The concerts are free; any donations help support this ministry.

The first of three concerts will be at 3:00pm on Saturday, October 26. All are invited to hear Jacqueline Rodenbeck.

Violinist Jacqueline Rodenbeck, 16, is a senior at Pusch Ridge Christian Academy and serves as concertmaster of the Tucson Philharmonic Youth Orchestra. Jacqueline has placed in international competitions such as the Bach Music Competition, Moscow Music Competition, and Clara Schumann Piano Competition.

She has been a featured soloist with regional ensembles, including Arizona Symphonic Winds, Pima College String Orchestra, Southern Arizona Symphony Orchestra, Civic Orchestra of Tucson, and Tucson Philharmonic Youth Orchestra.

For several years Jacqueline has participated in summer music programs and festivals across the country, including the Heifetz International Music Institute PEG, Sphinx Performance Academy, Encore, Curtis Institute of Music Mentor Program, and National Symphony’s Summer Music Institute at the Kennedy Center.

Jacqueline has been featured in the NPR program, ”From the Top,” which showcases music and stories of America’s best young classical musicians. Recent performances can be accessed on YouTube by entering “Jacqueline Rodenbeck piano.”
