2021-2022 highlights

With the approach of summer, the current Children, Youth & Family ministry program year (September-May) will come to a close. This Recognition Sunday, May 22, Saint Philip’s will celebrate the youth, volunteers, and staff who made this year such a success. Here are some highlights from this year’s activities:

 

19 Baptisms

 

9 candidates for Confirmation met throughout the year.

 
 

Youth participated in liturgy as acolytes and choir members.

 
 

A Parents Formation group was formed and met weekly.

 
 

Mosaic community nights were enjoyed.

 
 

Bread was baked in the parish’s upgraded kitchen.

 
 

Youth made Christmas cards for mariners assisted by the Seamen’s Church Institute.

 
 

Youth presented a lively Christmas pageant.

 
 

Christmas wreaths were sold to raise money for the 2024 youth pilgrimage.

Shrove Tuesday dinner was celebrated and Hallelujahs buried.

 
 

Youth volunteered to remove Bufflegrass at the Tucson Desert Museum.

 
 

Youth participated in NightSong: A Compline Experience at the Mercado.

 
 

Children enjoyed a rambunctious Easter egg hunt.

 
 

Young and old volunteered for an intergenerational service day at the Community Food Bank.

 
 

An Open House was held to raise money for the 2024 pilgrimage and share CYFM with the entire parish.

A Program Advisors committee was created to assess, support, and vision for the CYFM program as it lives into the calling of Saint Philip’s to gather, transform, and send people of all ages into Christian community.

CYFM is the result of many, many people working together.
