Changes in use

As COVID restrictions continue to change, Saint Philip’s seeks to flex in our understanding of what next steps might look like. Decisions about these changes are weighed extensively against what others are doing, what make most sense in our setting, and so on.

Here are a couple of first steps as relate to outdoor and indoor spaces, effective June 1:

Outdoor

Church groups only, by prior arrangement, may hold a meeting in several of our outside spaces. Masks are still mandatory, as is social distancing. We are not yet at the point of opening to public groups.

If your parish group is interested, email Myron Molzen, facilities manager, at myron.molzen@stphilipstucson.org

Here are the spaces and current maximum attendance allow:

  • Children’s Courtyard—30

  • Perry Garden—25

  • Fishpond Garden—10

  • Quiet Garden—15 (midday should be avoided)

Indoor (in addition to Sunday service norms)

  • For church groups only, as of June 1 we will start to consider very modest indoor use of certain spaces.

  • Decisions will be made on a case-by-case basis, with the best interests of all in mind.

  • Masks will still be mandatory, as will social distancing, and avoidance of physical contact such as hand shaking or hugging.

  • To submit a request, email Mtr Mary Trainor, business administrator, at mary.trainor@stphilipstucson.org Be sure to include a telephone number. The more notice we are given to consider the request will be deeply appreciated and go a long way to helping us work together for best outcomes.
