Service postponed

Editor’s note: Due to unforeseen circumstances, the requiem service scheduled for January 26 had to be postponed and will take place at 12:15pm this coming Wednesday, February 2.

Praying for those who have died is one of the most beautiful facets of Christian devotion.

Saint Philip's celebrates a requiem mass on the last Wednesday of each month, with special intentions for the faithful departed. And like each midweek service, it is streamed live to Saint Philip's website and Facebook page.

This week at 12:15pm on Wednesday, February 2, in the Chapel of the Nativity, we will honor and celebrate the memory of Saint Philip's parishioners who died in December 2021 and December 2020. Of your mercy, pray for their repose.

May their souls, and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

~ A Collect for Those Whom We Are Bound to Pray ~

Grant, we beseech thee, O Lord our God, that the souls of thy servants and handmaidens, the commemoration of whom we keep with special reverence, and for whom we are bidden and bound to pray, and the souls of all our benefactors, and of all our relations and connections, and of all the faithful, may repose in the bosom of thy saints, and being presently raised from the dead, may please thee in the land of the living; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

For more information and to submit names for future requiems, please contact Fr. Peter Helman, Parochial Vicar (peter.helman@stphilipstucson.org; 520-299-6421, ext. 133).

We are also always happy to celebrate a requiem upon request from any parishioner, especially upon the news of the death of a loved one.
