Saint Philip’s Sings

The Choir of Saint Philip’s will perform Brahms’ Ein Deutsches Requiem at 4:00pm on Saturday, October 24.

Brahms’ magisterial and comforting work incorporates Biblical texts, carefully chosen to emphasize the shared human experience of death and the need for consolation, resulting in what Brahms described as “A Requiem for Humankind”.

The Choir of Saint Philip’s sings the chamber version arranged from Brahms’s London version by Heinrich Poos for two pianos and timpani.

This is a free concert. Donations will support Saint Philip’s Friends of the Music Commission Fund.
