Newly commissioned

By Bill Symonds, Stephen Ministry Leader

On Pentecost Sunday, Saint Philip’s Interim Rector Richard Mallory commissioned two new Stephen Ministers: Kay Anderson and Cass Randall-Greene.

They will join eleven other Stephen Ministers at Saint Philip’s, all of whom have completed 50 hours of training developed by the national Stephen Ministry organization in St. Louis, Missouri.

Since its founding in 1975, Stephen Ministry has trained over 600,000 Stephen Ministers in the US and abroad, representing over 200 Christian denominations. It is by far the largest Christian ecumenical organization in the world.

At Saint Philip’s, Stephen Ministers meet confidentially, one-on-one with parishioners facing major life challenges. Since the program was established here in 2023, Stephen Ministers have helped people facing serious illness, loss of a spouse, family problems, a crisis of faith, and many other issues.

We have witnessed enormous healing and even miracles.

If you or someone you know would benefit from the Stephen Ministry, please contact one of our two leaders: Deacon Anne Strong (revRanne@gmail.com) or Bill Symonds (wcsymonds@gmail.com). The program is also blessed with the guidance of our Chaplain, The Rev’d Paula Datsko.
