Red-letter feast days
Throughout June, July, and August, all are invited to gather for several special 7:00pm services in the Bloom Music Center to celebrate the red-letter feast days.
7:00pm, Monday June 1: The Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary (transferred)
7:00pm, Thursday, June 11: St Barnabas, Apostle
7:00pm, Wednesday, June 24: The Nativity of St John the Baptist
7:00pm, Monday, June 29: Ss Peter & Paul, Apostles
7:00pm, Wednesday, July 22: St Mary Magdalene
7:00pm, Thursday, August 6: The Transfiguration of Our Lord Jesus Christ
7:00pm, Monday, August 24: St Bartholomew, Apostle
What is a red-letter day?
The term “red-letter day” finds its roots in the early history of the Prayer Book. Historically, the most significant feasts were printed in red ink in the church calendar.
