An easy way to serve

The Usher Ministry welcomes and assists people to church at both services every Sunday, and throughout the holiday seasons. Learn more about what they do and how to sign up below.

  • What exactly would I do?
    – Welcome worshipers as they arrive and hand out bulletins.
    – Direct traffic and help people find seating.
    – Collect offerings.
    – Take attendee counts.
    – Release worshipers for Communion.
  • How often would I serve?
Ushers usually serve one Sunday every six weeks, at either the 7:45am or 10:00am service. Volunteers are requested for principal feasts (e.g., Christmas week, Easter week) and when substitutes are needed.
  • What does training look like?
Seasoned usher captains will show you the proverbial ropes on the Sundays that you serve. No extra time is needed.
  • Is there an age limit?
Nope, we want ushers to reflect the entire Saint Philip’s community, from children to seniors. It’s fine if you can’t commit to a regular cadence—you’ll be added to the stand-by volunteer list so you can serve as you’re available.
  • How do I sign up?
Please contact parishioner, Kyle Kim-Hays, at k2hays@gmail.com or (520) 308-4663.
