Gratitude journaling

This is the second in a four-part series focused on different Lenten practices at Saint Philip’s. Each week a parishioner shares specific prayer practices and disciplines adopted to observe the season.

At the beginning of Lent, I wrote in my Daily Bread reflection that I was going to revisit an old practice of mine and keep a Gratitude Journal.

To date, I am most grateful that no one is keeping track of my journal entry success!

While I don’t always write down or seriously pause, ponder, and acknowledge my gratitude, I do notice that I “see” those moments more than before Lent when my intention began. In a few instances, seeing the work of the Holy Spirit has led to deeper gratitude and transformation.

So much more important than getting it down on paper!
