Difficult doctrines

Mosaic, the principal formation offering at Saint Philip’s, will continue on Wednesday, January 28, with its third session titled “Difficult Doctrines.”

You are invited to one or all of the events:

5:30pm Evening Prayer in the Sanctuary
6:00pm Fellowship with tea, coffee, and cookies in Saint Anne’s
6:30pm-7:30pm Discussion in Saint Anne’s

This third session will run through Wednesday, February 11, and will take participants into some of the harder Scriptures to read and the more difficult ideas to believe—and how we balance these challenges.

The fourth part, “Why Do Bad Things Happen to Good People” will be led by Julia Annas.

It’s an oft-cited barrier to belief in God: if God is love, and if God desires our good, why is the world so full of pain and strife? Few questions have drawn so many people to answer it, and few questions have seemed so unanswerable.
