No more reserves

By Herb Burton, Treasurer

Dear Saint Philip’s community,

The chart below shows the results to date of our Stewardship campaign. We have received 226 pledges through December 11, 2025. The total number of pledges in 2025 was 301, including a number of pledges received in December 2024 and January 2025.
Unfortunately, we have lost several large pledges due to transfers and deaths.

This past week, 6 additional pledges were made which totaled $26,900.

As noted in our Stewardship brochure, Bonnie Winn (Stewardship Chair) and I indicated that we need a 15% increase in pledges to fully fund Saint Philip’s operating budget.

In previous years, shortfalls were covered by drawing on reserves, but those reserves have now been exhausted. Therefore, even with a 15% increase, we will require additional gifts and new pledges to fully fund salaries, facilities, ministries, and outreach programs we all value so much.

The 2026 Stewardship Brochure featured a chart that highlights that, except for the top 30 pledges, a 15% increase for most households is only a few dollars more per month.

Some parishioners have asked about a year-end appeal to help fully fund both 2025 and 2026. If you’re able, please consider increasing your 2026 pledge, making an additional gift, or utilizing options like donations of appreciated stock or a year-end QCD. Your support would be greatly appreciated.

We are fortunate to have a highly capable operating, facilities, and maintenance staff this year—and it is essential that we provide full funding for them and all our ministries.

Please do what you can to ensure the continuation of this vibrant and growing parish.
