Making an impact
Imago Dei Middle School is a tuition-free school for low income and under-resourced Tucson families. It serves children in grades 4-8, and makes a profound impact in their lives.
- 100% of the 200+ graduates have attended high schools, including The Gregory School, Salpointe, University High, and others.
- More than 95% of the alumni who are old enough have graduated from high school. This is in contrast to a four-year Pima County graduation rate of about 71%.
- More than 85% of Imago Dei’s high school graduates are pursuing some form of post-secondary education.
The Head of School, Cameron Taylor, and volunteer, The Rev’d Peter Cheney, will visit Saint Philip’s on Saturday, October 18, as guests of the Companions of the Holy Cross*. They will share information about the ministry and alternative educational focus of this unusual institution, as well as volunteer opportunities.
The school is a Jubilee Domestic Poverty Ministry of the Episcopal Church. Saint Philip’s contributes to this program, and you can support it, too, with your Arizona state tax deduction.
*This forum is sponsored by the Greater Arizona Chapter of the Society of the Companions of the Holy Cross. It will hold its monthly meeting from 10:00am-2:00pm in the Murphey Gallery on Saturday, October 18. Visitors are invited to attend.
