Your pledge matters

By Herb Burton, Treasurer

Dear Community,

Last week giving statements were sent from Saint Philip’s bookkeeper. If you haven’t looked yet, please review it to see if your giving-to-date is what you intended.

Contributions through August were substantially below what we have seen in the past.

We always see a dip in contributions during the summer, but this year the dip is much larger. Historically, we receive between 61% to 66% of the annual budgeted income through August, but this year it is at 56%.

The attached chart illustrates the problem: the green line should be between the red and blue lines, which depict the recent multi-year history of giving.

Saint Philip’s depends on your financial support. Payroll for clergy and staff, utility bills, and other expenses that keep the church open and welcoming continue—and need to be paid.

If you didn’t receive your giving statement yet, then contact the office at office@stphilipstucson.org. And if you did receive it, and sent in your pledge payment, then a spirited “thank you!”

My thanks to everyone who helps make possible all that Saint Philip’s does.

—Herb
