What is TiHAN and what does it do?
TIHAN (Tucson Interfaith HIV/AIDS Network) provides support through a number of programs to members of the Tucson community who live with HIV.
Long-term outcomes for people with HIV have improved dramatically in the last few decades. Even so, the lingering stigma associated with a positive diagnosis can be a significant barrier to employment and other opportunities for members of the HIV+ community. Additionally, the cost of comprehensive care is out of reach for many.
Unfortunately, because of deep cuts to Medicaid and other social services, especially those supporting the LGBTQ+ community, many who live with HIV are struggling to access the lifesaving care they need. That’s why TIHAN’s mission is so important.
Saint Philip’s in the Hills is proud to be a longtime TIHAN member parish. And in October, Saint Philip’s will team up with Saint Francis in the Foothills United Methodist Church to sponsor TIHAN’s Poz cafe. Together both churches will cover the cost of providing lunch and care packages to the 150 care partners TIHAN will serve in October.
What is Poz Cafe?
TIHAN’s Poz Cafe is held monthly at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church. It’s an opportunity for people living with HIV to meet and socialize with each other, play bingo, enter a raffle to win fun and useful gifts, and receive a care package, all while enjoying a delicious and nutritious lunch served by volunteers from a partner faith community.
How you can help
Be a Poz Cafe Volunteer!
We need 4 to 6 volunteers to help on Thursday, October 16. Volunteers will help set up in the morning, serve lunch, and then assist with clean-up afterwards. Lunch will be provided for you.

Two Ways to Donate
To help us support TIHAN this October, you can make a monetary donation by cash, check, or card on Sundays after the 10:00am service. Or, you can donate new and unopened hygiene items to be added to care packages. TIHAN needs the following items:
- Shampoo (16 oz or 24 oz bottles)
- Shaving Cream (5 oz or 10 oz canisters)
- Packages of Disposable Razors
You can drop off your donations at the office during the week (Monday-Thursday 9:00am-5:00pm) or bring your donations to the Little Shop on Sunday. We will accept donations through Sunday, October 12. Thank you!
