Meet the next Rising Star
Saint Philip’s provides performance opportunities for young musical stars in the Tucson area. The events feature an hour of special chamber music in the church followed by a reception with the artists.
Music lovers will appreciate the stellar performances but the concerts are also special opportunities for young people to watch a peer perform as a featured artist. All are encouraged to bring a young person who might be inspired.
The concerts are free but donations are gratefully accepted to help support this ministry.
The third of these concerts will be at 3:00pm on Saturday, March 22. All are invited to hear cellist, Sarah Roland.

Cellist Sarah Joy Roland comes from a remarkable family of eleven musical children who all play instruments! She has studied for twelve years with noted cellist Mary Beth Tyndall. Sarah serves as principal cellist for the Tucson Philharmonia Youth Orchestra and has attended Rocky Ridge Music Center in Colorado several times. She was Silver Medalist in the TPYO scholarship Competition as well as medalist in the Tucson Cello Competition for the last several years. One teacher describes her as “one of the most musical students I ever coached.”
Balancing her love for music with her personal interests, Sarah enjoys spending time outdoors, camping, hiking, and riding horses. She often plays for her church congregation. As a homeschooled senior in high school, she recently expanded her horizons through an international trip that took her to Bali, Singapore, Vietnam, and Japan.
