February 12 topic

This Wednesday, February 12, the Wednesday Mosaic formation series will continue its spring semester with a discussion titled “Ministry of Word and Sacrament: Encountering the Bible in Liturgy .”

In corporate worship, the Bible—God’s written word—is mediated through our lectionary and the voices of lectors, deacons, and preachers. How do we prepare for this encounter so that we truly sense God’s word as “living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword”? (Hebrews 4:12).

Deacon Susan will lead this exploration of where we encounter the Bible in the liturgy.

It is a big help to the hospitality team to have a general headcount so they can ensure enough food for dinner. Please register if you plan to attend.

Mosaic is a weekly gathering on Wednesdays for fellowship, formation, and prayer. The community is made up of people from different backgrounds but everyone shares an interest in nourishing their relationship with God. It’s a wonderful way to meet people involved in different ministries at Saint Philip’s and learn about ways to be of service.

You are invited to participate in all events or just one:

5:15pm—Evening Prayer in the Chapel of the Nativity
6:00pm—Dinner in the Murphy Gallery
6:45pm-7:30pm—Discussion in Saint Anne’s Family Center
