Outreach opportunity

TiHAN (Tucson Interfaith HIV/AIDS Network) has served residents of Tucson who live with HIV/AIDS for 25 years, and Saint Philip’s has been a long-term supporter of this important, compassionate work.

TiHAN’s mission is to offer resources—physical, as well as emotional—to people who live with HIV/AIDS. Despite increased knowledge about the virus, there is still a stigma attached to those who live with it, and many are isolated from friends and family. And because of the virus’ effects on the body, 65% of people who have HIV/AIDS and who are 55 years or older are also on disability.

Every December, TiHAN offers a Christmas party to its clients. This year Saint Philip’s and two other churches in town will donate items for care packages that guests will take home with them. Pretty much everything is ready except for one final, important detail: volunteers to help at the party.

Saint Philip’s invites everyone to consider helping with this festive—and very appreciated—event. Volunteers are needed from 3:30pm-8:30pm on Wednesday, December 11. The party will be at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church at 1200 N. Campbell Avenue.
