Staff change

Dear Friends in Christ,

After five years here, for personal reasons, Mother Mary will be stepping away from her role on staff here. She will take leave through the end of the month with an official departure on December 1.

Few of you will know the countless hours she has put in and the dedication she has shown in her role. Coming out of Covid was a difficult time of transition in so many ways. The transitions in budget, facilities, staff, and more were almost all “emergency” measures.

From getting a relationship with Catalina Hills School going, getting the clay studio restarted, bringing new life to the Blessing of the Animals service, overseeing the new hearing loop system, helping to see the Creation Care Commission formed, getting the new security system installed, and much more, she has proven herself an able and effective change maker.

Most recently, the new Joyful Noise service stands as another example of her vision and tenacity helping to bring something new to life. Some of you will have received pastoral care from her and others have commented on her sermons that are full of insight and experiences we can all relate to.

Her role, by necessity, is one that has changed seemingly from day-to-day as the needs of the church have changed. As Mother Mary steps away, we will begin a reassessment of our office and facility operations. This will include staff restructuring where appropriate, and looking for more efficiency wherever we can to better coordinate and streamline both long-term strategic planning around the campus and the day-to-day work of room reservations and maintenance projects.

Mother Mary has been generous with her time and talent. She has been dedicated to this place. She has earned our thanks and gratitude.

More information will come soon about a purse and transition plans.

Yours in Christ,

—Fr Robert
