Souper Sunday

If you are looking for an opportunity to learn, to lead, to serve, and to eat tasty homemade food, then consider helping prepare the weekly meal for Mosaic. You can try it once to consider if it’s something you like to do.

Click here to watch the short and really fun video that Arnold Carson made that shows how much fun folks have.

In addition to Wednesday afternoon/evenings, there is now the option to volunteer on Sunday afternoons.

On “Souper Sundays,” teams of eight volunteers are guided through the process of making soup to be frozen in 20-batch servings. This soup will be available for Mosaic when volunteers can’t make their usual shift or for occasional events such as a gathering of the Feeding Ministries team.

Prayer Shawl ministry

Saint Philip’s Prayer Shawl ministry gathers for a hybrid meeting in room 10 and via Zoom. Knitters and crocheters of all skill levels are welcome at these gatherings, and instruction is available for beginners.

This ministry creates prayer shawls for parishioners who are ill, bereaved, or going through a difficult time. Shawls are blessed by clergy throughout the year and then distributed during in-person, pastoral visits.

If you know of a parishioner who would be comforted by receiving a prayer shawl, made with love by fellow parishioners and blessed by clergy, visit the church office Monday-Thursday and pick one up; shawls are packaged and ready to go.

If you would like to join the group via Zoom, email Helene Woodhams at helenewoodhams@comcast.net
