What wondrous love is this, O my soul! O my soul…*
Dear friend,
You know how you know that a friend or family member is going to make a bad choice? And even when they make the bad choice, you still love them? I think that’s how God knows and loves us.

In our Office Gospel today from Matthew, Jesus knows that his disciples, including Peter, will flee in fear once he is arrested. They will deny knowing him.
Peter protests. But it won’t be long before the truth of Jesus’ words is plain to see.
But he still loves them. They still are worthy to him. He still dies for them.
What wondrous love is this that caused the Lord of bliss
To bear the dreadful curse for my soul, for my soul..
Love is like that. It’s messy and disappointing, painful, complicated—and Godly.
What wondrous love is this!
That caused the Lord of bliss!
To send this precious peace,
