Dear Friend,
The Psalms probably captivate me as much now as they did when I first was counseled “well, start with the Psalms” many years ago. The short verses lend themselves well to memorization, to getting caught in your heart in a way that you notice again some time much later.
I call upon you, O God, for you will answer me; *
incline your ear to me and hear my words. (17:6)
Keep me as the apple of your eye; *
hide me under the shadow of your wings, (17:8)
May a verse or two of these ancient prayers find a place to land in your heart today where they might blossom into deep peace, joy, strength, and hope.
