From the Rector

Dear Friends in Christ,

I posted a thank you on Facebook but as one can never say “thank you!” enough, I offer it again here:

A quick thank you to all those who made this past week beautiful and meaningful. Ushers, acolytes, readers, Altar Guild, sextons, greeters, vergers, Eucharistic ministers, deacons and more all made the week run smoothly and brought their patient love to this work.

I’m especially grateful to the musicians and choir this week—it’s a long, intense week that demands focus and energy and they gave it in so many ways that made each liturgy poignant and powerful.

Of course, as always, I’m also deeply indebted to staff colleagues who give their best week in and week out and whose dedication makes weeks like this come together. They never hesitate to do what needs to be done with generous hearts.

We mark Holy Week at Saint Philip’s in a full, robust way and it takes the whole body of the faithful here to pull it off.

Thank you all for being part of this joyful, intense, and moving prayer, praise, and adoration together.

In that same spirit of thanksgiving, I hope you’ll mark your calendars for Sunday, May 7. On that Sunday, Saint Philip’s Day, there will be an awards ceremony at coffee hour. Saint Philip’s medals will be presented to parishioners who have demonstrated long, faithful service to this parish. (This practice lapsed during COVID and we’re pleased to resume it this year.)

The recipients will be announced in the next two weeks but please mark your calendars now. We hope you’ll join us!

Yours in Christ,

—Fr Robert
