Fall schedule

FORMATION
What do we mean by formation? Saint Philip’s uses the word to describe our efforts to cultivate a community that forms Christians, aka Disciples—those who are called and equipped to follow Jesus.

Formation is about more than one or two hours on Sunday morning. Formation is a commitment to allow our whole lives to be formed by the desire to follow God in Christ. We lend our energy to building a place where each person can do that using their individual gifts. We are all disciples in the making.

MOSAIC
Mosaic meets on Wednesday evenings. This program year’s theme is Growing together in the liturgy.

This theme is in response to results from RenewalWorks—the spiritual inventory parishioners took in the spring of 2024. It identified that the congregation wants the church to 1) help create a sense of belonging and 2) provide opportunities to grow spiritually through relationships with others.

What better way to start doing this than to explore the riches of our services, where we all come together as a church.

The liturgy of our services is the church’s public workshop of God; it’s where we belong as Christians together. For many people it’s their primary expression of church, and it is our main space for spiritual growth. We worship together.

This year in Mosaic we will grow together as we share understandings, difficulties, and deepened experiences in our worship. We will strive to strengthen our relationship with one another as we explore the spiritual wealth of the way we worship together.

Some evenings will feature a presentation, while others will be more discussion-based. This is not a series of lectures, but a series of experiences.

Join us for all or part of the evening—whatever your schedule permits.

5:15pm—Evening Evening Prayer in the Chapel of the Nativity
6:00pm—Dinner in the Murphy Gallery
6:45pm-7:30pm—Discussion in Saint Anne’s Family Center

Volunteers are always invited to help with dinner. Opportunities to help include shopping for ingredients, cooking at home or in Saint Philip’s kitchen, and cleaning up after the meal. If you’d like to help, contact Ana Nygren (nygrenam@msn.com).

The discussions are geared toward adults, but children are always welcome. The nearby Julian Room is available for older children to do homework or play games.
