Parenting in the pews

Join Music Educator, Chelsea Shepherd, on the second Saturday of every month when she offers Rhythm&Rhyme classes for 0-5 year olds and their grown ups. Enjoy music and movement that will explore the seasons of the church year during free classes that run 9:00am-10:00am.

The session on Saturday, October 12, will be in the West Transept so that parents and caregivers can learn how to encourage toddlers and young children to participate in the liturgy in ways that are engaging to them. Chelsea is a gifted educator and this will be a wonderful opportunity.

Please RSVP to help make planning easier.

Open play
At 10:00am—following the Rhythm&Rhyme class—there will be open play time in the Children’s Courtyard. Mtr Taylor hopes to host some short conversations about the Charlotte Mason approach to educating young children. Her approach is heavily influenced by her Anglican identity, and is renowned.

Saint Philip’s has some families who homeschool, some families who are in a hybrid phase, and some families with small children at home who are looking for structure around their parenting. There is a lot to plumb in Charlotte Mason’s work—so even if your kids are a little older and you’re curious, please consider participating in open play.
