A book club

Sharon Stohrer and David Rives (a lay clerk)

EDITOR’S NOTE: Sharon will be under the blue umbrella after the 9:00am service this Sunday, March 17, to speak about this new offering. Stop by if you’re curious or have questions.

By parishioner and volunteer, Sharon Stohrer.

For centuries women have met in sewing, knitting, and quilting circles to share their lives and enjoy female community.

In the Sowing Circle we can share about ourselves and our faith journeys over brown bag lunches. We will gather on the second Monday of each month from 12:00pm-1:00pm in The Lounge just south of the Murphey Gallery.

This is a book club to sow new seeds of feminine faith and understanding through reading books by progressive women writers on faith. The group will choose each month's book from member suggestions.

Some current writers we might consider include: Barbara Bradley Haggerty, Barbara Brown Taylor, Rachel Held Evans, Nadia Bolz-Weber, Anne Lamott, Meggan Watterson, Sarah Bessey, and Sue Monk Kidd. There are many more!
