Wedding anthems

To kick off the new program year, and to accompany the creation story from Genesis, Saint Philip’s choir will sing two Anglican wedding anthems at 10:00am this Sunday, October 6.

The first, Audi Filia, is a setting of Psalm 45 by Francis Jackson, the director of the York Minster Choir (1946-1982).

The second is by David Bednall, Everyone Sang, with poetry by the WWI poet Sigfried Sassoon.

Saint Philip’s in the Hills strives to bring the finest quality choral music to its worship services by incorporating substantial works directly into the liturgy. Every first Sunday of the month (October-May), the choirs present such an offering at the 10:00am service, often with instrumental accompaniment.

Please join us this coming Sunday to experience this wonderful music in a liturgical context—and invite anyone you know who loves music and would welcome this unique experience.
