Some of you know I have a strange affection for data. I like looking at scattered information and using it to discern a picture or story.

Good data is crucial though. It can be the difference between a false story or an accurate one.

There is holiness to statistical validity!

Let me explain.

Statistical validity, having enough data to draw accurate conclusions, is a non-biased way of giving voice to the different perspectives being recorded and measured.

In our case, RenewalWorks depends on a good portion of the congregation offering its responses so we get as accurate a picture as possible of life and longing here.

If only the most eager and bubbly and outgoing folks take it, for example, we’ll miss important data about how we might better support introverts or those less likely to throw their voice into the mix.

Imagine if we only built a year of programming and formation around the most vocal people?

So we need as many people as possible, especially you, to take the survey.

Click here to go to the RenewalWorks survey page.

I say especially you because you’ve already shown interest in life at Saint Philip’s by opening this up this email.

Now help us shape that life together by sharing your unique perspective and practice around faith so that we can better understand where we are as a congregation and where you long to go.

There is a holiness to creating space for each voice to be heard and each perspective honored. That’s what RenewalWorks does.

But it also demands the blessed assurance of statistical validity.

So if you haven’t already taken the confidential and anonymous survey, I hope you will. Please help us guide life at Saint Philip’s in the months and years ahead.
