Legacy of Faith

By Nancy Atherton, Susan Koza, and Jane Prescott-Smith—Co-chairs of Saint Philip’s Planned Giving Committee

Have you heard about our parishioners who are members of Legacy of Faith? It’s easy to join this dedicated group: you just name Saint Philip’s as a beneficiary of your will, trust, retirement accounts, or life insurance policies.

These types of planned gifts can be used for a number of purposes. For example, the gift can be earmarked for funding a special facet of church life as a restricted gift. Or, to support Saint Philip’s in perpetuity, a gift can be directed to an endowment. Ministry Endowment Funds Trust (MEFT) and the Preservation and Endowment Foundation (P&E) are the vehicles the parish uses for the latter types of planned gifts.

There are a number of individuals and couples who have shared their planned giving intentions. We gratefully acknowledge the following parishioners who have made plans for their personal Legacy of Faith.

If you have established a planned gift but don’t see your name on this list, it means we don’t know about it. The next gathering of Legacy of Faith is Saturday, February 3, when we will be joined by Bishop Kirk Smith, as well as Fr Robert. We’d like to send everyone who has made a planned gift an invitation to this evening which will be held in the lovely Buena Vista room at Hacienda at the Canyon (thanks to John and Dottie Driskill).

If you have questions, please contact Nancy Atherton for information about MEFT or Jane Prescott-Smith about P&E. Their contact information is in Breeze, Saint Philip’s online directory.
