Building resilience

The Celebration of Resilience event will showcase the "Resilience" film documentary, which highlights both the birth of the Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACES) movement, as well as what groups around the country are doing to build more resilient children, families, and communities.

The event will begin at 1:00pm this Sunday, September 17. There will be time for a Q&A after the film to discuss what can be done to build a more resilient Southern Arizona.

Tucson Student Ministries will bookend the film with presentations focused on building hope and resilience. A few local organizations will share opportunities on how you can become involved in their efforts.

The presentations will take place at the Loft Cinema's main screen. The event is free but seating is limited, so you’re asked to reserve your seat ahead of time.

The movie is considered appropriate for children ages 11+. Parental caution is advised as topics related to childhood trauma are mentioned in the film.
