November's artist

Every month a local artist is invited to sell their handmade objects in The Little Shop. Artists donate a percentage of their proceeds to Saint Philip’s.

Pop in the store each week before or after worship services to see what gifts you find—for yourself or others.

October will feature items created by Tyler Johnson.

A bit about Tyler
Tyler has lived in Tucson for five years. She moved here from Pennsylvania after graduating college with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Drawing. Tyler is grateful to her mother (Saint Philip’s staff member Cheryle Johnson) who has always supported her passion to be creative and draw.

Most of Tyler's work is illustration, but her most recent creative outlet is giving new life to second-hand mirrors and frames.

Hand forming mushrooms out of clay and delicately placing moss and natural findings on pre-loved objects gives them a whimsical touch, while still letting the history of the original piece shine through.

Tyler fills her home only with things she loves and that bring her joy, and making the smallest details special is very important to her. She believes that locally made, second hand, and personal touches really make a house feel like a home filled with stories to tell.

Tyler welcomes requests for commissions of illustrations and custom art for pets and family members. All three make wonderful one-of-a-kind presents!

Artists have been scheduled through April 2024. If you are interested in sharing your creativity please contact Kiki Cheney at kiki.cheney@stphilipstucson.org.
